Zeytin: The Car Accident and the Recovery Process
Emergency Call
The message we received on our WhatsApp line was short and urgent: "Injured dog on the main road, unable to move." We set off immediately.
What we found was a young female dog. She had olive-green eyes — that's how she got her name, Zeytin. Her back left leg was at an unnatural angle, but when she looked at us, there was neither anger nor panic in her eyes. She was simply waiting for help.
We carefully placed her on a stretcher and rushed her to the emergency veterinary clinic.
Not once did Zeytin make a sound while we carried her to the vehicle. The trust in her eyes was the greatest responsibility we were given.
Diagnosis and Treatment
X-ray results:
- Fracture in the back left leg — a clean break, surgery required
- No internal organ damage — this was a huge relief
She was taken into surgery. Her leg was stabilized with a plate and screws. The operation was successful. When Zeytin woke up from anesthesia, she wagged her tail — it brought tears to everyone's eyes.
Recovery Process and Cost
Zeytin is currently resting in temporary care. Daily wound dressings are being done, and weekly veterinary check-ups continue.
